It is stated that this has the effect of lowering the optimum frequency of operation whereby increase in the diameter of the ferrite disc, normally necessary for operation at reduced frequencies, may be avoided. The invention may be applied to 3-port circulators using strip-lines of the kind comprising symmetrical conductors or those of the kind using a single strip conductor between ground planes. The reactance of the capacitors should be less than the impedance of the circulator ports, e.g. for an operating frequency of 240 MHz a capacitance of 20 pF is used, giving a reactance of 33# compared with an input port impedance of 50#.</p> |
