Disclosed is an apparatus (1) comprising a liquid (L) dispensing assembly (20) to be used in combination with a capsule (10) containing infusible material (M) and/or water soluble extracts to prepare a selected beverage; said dispensing assembly (20) comprises a supply unit (21) that supplies the capsule (10) with a liquid (L) within the apparatus (1) whereby the liquid (L) is at a predetermined and controlled temperature and pressure; the capsule (10) is delimited by sidewalls (17) and completed with an outwardly raised rim (13); the dispensing assembly (20) comprising a coupling system (30) that retains the outward edge of the raised rim (13) to create a fluid-tight seal between the capsule (10) to the liquid-supplying unit (21) during the production of a selected beverage. |
