The invention relates to a rig (1) for a sail-powered vehicle including two masts (5, 6) connected to form a trapezoidal mast assembly and two sail assemblies (2, 3) arranged on either side of a median plane (Ps) relative to the base of the trapezium and each pivotably connected to a top attachment element (12, 13) and a bottom attachment element (10, 11). Each bottom attachment element is capable of occupying at least one position outside the trapezium and substantially contained within the plane of the trapezium. The leading edge of each sail (20, 30) is laterally separated from the mast assembly so that each sail plane of a sail assembly has a spacing area (Ze) located at a spacing distance (De) from the mast assembly that is large enough to ensure that the air flow on a sail is not disrupted by a mast. The invention also relates to a vehicle provided with such a rig. |
