Granular food concentrate (A) comprises binding agent; less than 1 wt.% of fat and greater than 60 wt.% of granulate particles with a size of at least 1 mm, where (A) is pourable and exhibits a bulk density of 300-550 g/l. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of (A) comprising mixing a powdery (A) with water or an aqueous composition containing 2-20 wt.% of the powdery (A); extruding the mixture; forming granulates from the extrudate and drying the granulate; and (2) a food composition comprising (A).
