<p>Disclosed is a folding portable electronic device having a structure that includes at least one exterior hinge member that turns with respect to a second case having a main operating portion. The structure offers excellent design characteristics and prevents the finger of the user from being nipped when the case is opened and closed. A rotating portion (13a) of a hinge portion (13) turns together with a first case (11) about a rotating shaft when the first case (11) is opened with respect to a second case (12), a part of the rotating portion (13a) of the hinge portion (13) is disposed in such a way as to be located outside at least one side-end portion of the first case (11), and the rotating shaft of the hinge portion (13) is located along an extension of the hinge portion-side proximal-end portion of the second case (12) both when the case is opened and when it is closed. An end face (12b) of the proximal-end portion (12a) of the second case (12) opposing the rotating portion (13a) is formed along the exterior circumferential shape of the rotating portion (13a), and a protruding portion (21) is formed at an end-side corner portion of the proximal-end portion (12a) to project outwards of a second face on the opposite side to the operating portion of the second case (12).</p> |
