PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance controlling apparatus which can provide authentic feeling of a conductor by using a convenient constitution, and eliminate the problems such that a baton is hard to be handled, heavy and wholly large when the baton is provided with a sensor, and a substitute can not be easily obtained when the baton is damaged. SOLUTION: The performance controlling apparatus has a light receiving part 1a for detecting an infrared light from the baton 201, an infrared light interrupting part 2a provided in a light receiving area at least in one direction and interrupting the infrared light detected by the receiving part 1a outside an installed position, and a converting part 3a for converting the light received by the receiving part 1a into a performance controlling data such as tempo and velocity, etc., and outputting the data. |
