Mixture of alkylsulfosuccinate monoester compound (I), comprises 30-70 wt.% of 16C-alkylsulfosuccinate monoester and 30-70 wt.% of 18C-alkylsulfosuccinate monoester. Mixture of alkylsulfosuccinate monoester compound of formula (R-O-C(=O)-CH(S(((=O) 2)-OY1))-CH 2-C(=O)-OX) (I), comprises 30-70 wt.% of 16C-alkylsulfosuccinate monoester and 30-70 wt.% of 18C-alkylsulfosuccinate monoester. R : 6-22C alkyl; and X, Y1 : H or a cation forming water soluble salts, preferably alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium or organic ammonium. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical preparation comprising 0.1-50, preferably 0.5-10 wt.% of (I), in a carrier.
