An implant is manufactured by preparing body (5) of the implant having metallic material; and plasma-chemical treating of at least a portion of surface of the body in aqueous solution by applying plasma-generating alternating voltage (at least 1 kHz) to body of implant for creating first layer on part of surface of body that is to be treated. An independent claim is included for the implant manufactured above.
