A secure memory storage for data storage in the memory of an NFC communicator and a method for controlling secure memory storage is described. A memory map maps a set of memory blocks, each memory block having capacity to store plural bytes and each memory block being separately lockable such that, in a locked state, a memory block is a read only memory block. A header memory block is also mapped for use by an applications platform to enable programming of the header memory block with header application platform data. The header memory block is locked such that data programmed into the header memory block cannot be altered once programmed unless the memory map is deleted. |
