The mold made of copper/copper alloy, comprises a peripheral casting throttle, which is limited on a partial length outward of a circulating steel strip, and an insoluble multi-layer coating connected with the surface of the casting throttle. The coating is applied by thermal injection process, has surface roughness of greater than 1 mu m, the maximum heat conductivity of less than 50 W/(m.K) and a layer thickness of 0.2-0.3 mm, and consists of a metallic, partially-ceramic or ceramic material. The multi-layer coating is formed from layers of different materials. |
