The combat vehicle has an ammunition depot, where multiple ammunition bodies (11) are deposited for operating a large-caliber weapon (4). An automatic withdrawing unit (8) is provided for withdrawing ammunition bodies from the ammunition depot. The ammunition depot is formed by an ammunition cartridge (20), and is exchangeably arranged for providing the vehicle with ammunition over a vehicle opening. An independent claim is included for a method for providing the vehicle with ammunition of combat vehicles with the ammunition depot.
