Described is a system of luminescent security features, a luminescent security feature, as well as a device and a method of verifying the said luminescent security feature. The system of valuable documents includes luminescent materials which have an invisible but machine-readable spectral code formed by at least two of the said materials with overlapping spectral bands as a response.
