<p>A portable terminal has a touch panel (1) placed on the front surface of a key display section (2) and accepting an input to ten keys displayed on the key display section (2). When a predetermined one of the ten keys displayed on the key display section (2) is pressed, a control section (4) measures by means of a timer (5) a time during which the predetermined key is pressed long. Then, every time when such a long-pressing time passes a predetermined period, the control section (4) considers that the key is pressed one time and renews, one by one, letters allocated to the key, displaying them on a display section (3). Further, every time when the long-pressing time passes the predetermined period, the control section (4) informs a vibration section (6) of a timing of letter renewal. The vibration section (6) vibrates the touch panel (1) based on the timing of letter renewal informed from the control section (4). The user of the portable terminal can perform desired inputs without gazing on the terminal.</p> |
