PURPOSE: An image processing device and a method thereof are provided to produce high density and high brightness color image by using edge information extracted from broadband image information and a color images including color information. CONSTITUTION: A color image processing unit(110) produces a first conversion image from a first image. The resolution of the first conversion image is lower than the resolution of the first image. The luminance of the first conversion image is higher than the luminance of the first image. An edge information extracting unit(120) extracts edge information from a second image. An image recovery part(130) produces a restoration image with edge information of the first conversion image and the second image.
