PURPOSE: A method for extracting the range of property of query and a system thereof are provided to extract the property range of a product through automata mode according to state transition from an inputted query, thereby enabling more exact search through a search engine. CONSTITUTION: A digit extraction unit(701) recognizes a property phrase through automata mode according to state transition from an inputted query and extracts a digit from the property phrase. A property range calculation unit(702) calculates property range of the query using words which are located in the front and back of the extracted digit. The digit extraction unit includes a property phrase recognition unit(703) which recognizes a numeral unit as a property phrase, a property phrase standardization unit(705) which standardizes a numerical phrase included in the property phrase, and a digit conversion unit(706) which converts the standardized property phrase into a digit.
