METHOD FOR SUPERSELECTIVE CATHETERIZATION OF PANCREATIC ARTERIES IN DOGS

A method for the superselective catheterization of the pancreatic arteries in the dogs provides for the catheterization of the cranial pancreato-duodenal and splenic arteries. Upon the laparotomic access, the common hepatic artery is punctured, and the catheter is passed caudally through the gastroduodenal artery to its terminal branch when the pathology is localized in the right pancreatic lobe, or the celiac trunk is is punctured, and the catheter is passed caudally to the splenic artery when the pathology is localized in the left pancreatic lobe.
