PURPOSE: A method and a system for tracing a position of a mobile phone are provided to receive location based information from a base station and trace the location of a tracing target mobile phone by using the location based information. CONSTITUTION: A position based information receiving unit(11) receives location base information for a tracing target mobile phone from a mobile communication service provider, and a location determination unit(13) judges a prediction location range of the phone by using the predicted location range. A mapping unit(14) maps the location of the mobile phone on a map, and a display unit(15) displays the map screen mapped with tracing target mobile phone.
