The element has a presence detecting device (12) including a support layer formed of an elastic metallic wire (15) with an elastic part i.e. U-shaped undulation (15a). A deformable unit (42) i.e. flexible band, is not interfered with an actuating unit (41) i.e. lever, of the device when the part is at rest, and is interfered with the actuating unit by displacing the deformable unit towards an active position when the part is subjected to an extension under the effect of support of a user seated on a seat. The deformable unit and a support plate are molded of a single piece of plastic material.
