PURPOSE: An apparatus for purifying waste oil and a method thereof are provided to recycle the waste oil by eliminating moisture and contaminant and to enable a user to use the apparatus for a long time by preventing the generation of the waste oil during the operation of the apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for purifying waste oil eliminate moisture from the waste oil by irradiating microwave to the waste oil having a different dielectric constant. An oil/water separation chamber(20) comprises: a fine-grain spraying apparatus(21) which discharges the waste oil; and a microwave generator(30) which irradiates the microwave to the waste oil. The apparatus for purifying waste oil includes an electrostatic separators(40) which eliminates charged contaminant of the waste oil.
