PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing Rheum undulatum and Coptis chinensis extract for protecting skin from UV ray is provided to ensure anti-oxidation and anti-inflammation and to recover damaged skin by UV ray. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for protecting UV contains 0.005-50 weight% of extract of Rheum undulatum and Coptis chinensis. The weight ratio of the Rheum undulatum and Coptis chinensis extract is 1:1. The cosmetic composition is used in the form of skin lotion, skin softener, skin toner, astringent, lotion, milk lotion, moisture lotion, massage cream, essence, pack, soap, shampoo, and cleansing cream.
