<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a material roll set in which two rolls can be used simply by cutting each of them to a specific length and then can be bonded with high axis precision to an optical display unit in a manner that their absorbing axes become perpendicular to each other; a method for producing a material roll, which is suitable for producing the material roll set; and a method for producing an optical display apparatus using the material roll set. <P>SOLUTION: A long sheet product obtained by laminating an optical film including a polarizing plate, an adhesive layer and a releasing film in this order is wound up to form material rolls R1, R2. The long sheet product is pulled out of the material rolls R1, R2, is cut to predetermined length and then is supplied to bond the optical film to a surface of the rectangular optical display unit. The method for producing the material rolls R1, R2 includes: a slitting step of cutting a long material 55 which has a longitudinal direction parallel to the absorption axis of the polarizing plate in parallel to the longitudinal direction so that it has width corresponding to a short side or a long side of the optical display unit; and a winding-up step of winding up the long sheet product 56 obtained by the slitting step in a roll shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
