PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which is excellent in flame retardancy even when the amount of an antimony compound blended therein is as small as possible, excellent also in rigidity and suitable for electronic/electric equipment, OA equipment or the like, in a flame-retardant styrene resin composition. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition contains 100 pts.mass styrene resin (A), 3-30 pts.mass halogen-based flame retardant (B), 0.1-4.5 pts.mass antimony compound (C) and 0.1-30 pts.mass layered silicate (D) the intermediate layer of which is cation-exchanged by an organic cation.
