<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device hardly inducing a short circuit between a pixel electrode and a data line in either side of the pixel electrode. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: one and the other data lines 5 adjacent to each other; a pixel electrode 37 formed on the same plane as the one and the other data lines 5 and between the one and the other data lines 5; a common electrode 9 having a plurality of slits 27 formed parallel to one another, each slit having a bend part 27a close to the one data line 5 and one end and the other end of the slit at a position farther from the one data line 5 than the bend part 27a, wherein all of them are formed via an insulating film on the same substrate. In an edge of the pixel electrode 37 close to the one data line 5, a portion between a site corresponding to the bend part 27a of the slit 27 closest to the one data line and the one data line 5 is closer to the one data line 5 than a portion between a site corresponding to the one end or the other end of the slit 27 closest to the one data line 5 and the one data line 5.
