<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely control batteries not to exceed an upper limit voltage value for charging when charging a plurality of batteries connected in series. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A voltage of a battery B1 of a battery pack BAT is compared with a reference voltage REF1 by an operational amplifier AMP1. A voltage of a battery B2 is compared with a reference voltage REF2 by an operational amplifier AMP2. Each of the outputs of the operational amplifiers AMP1 and AMP2 are supplied to a pulse width modulation circuit 3 through diodes D3 and D4 and a photocoupler PH1. Constant current charging is performed to raise voltages of the batteries B1 and B2.
