PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving runflat durability. SOLUTION: The pneumatic safety tire includes rubber component and not less than 55 mass part of carbon black to the rubber component 100 mass part, uses rubber composition wherein elastic modulus (M100) at 100% extension is not less than 10 MPa and aΣvalue at 28 to 150°C of tangent loss tanδis not more than 6.0 in vulcanized rubber physical properties, and has a cord configuring a carcass layer, which is a polyethylene naphthalate fiber cord. The carbon black is preferably at least one kind selected from a group made of an FEF class grade, an FF class grade, an HAF class grade, an ISAF class grade, and an SAF class grade.
