<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing device allowing a driver to properly deal with the occurrence of abnormalities in a vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The information providing device 1 includes an ignition switch 2, a parking brake sensor 3, a vehicle speed sensor 4, an ECU 5, a meter display 6, a speaker 7, a detail display button 8, and an end button 9. In the information providing device 1, the ECU 5 determines whether the vehicle is in the state of starting or not, or stopping or not. When the vehicle is in the state of starting or stopping, information concerning an alarm lamp such as the meaning of the alarm lamp and how to deal with the lighting or flickering of the alarm lamp are instructed to the driver by the meter display 6 and the speaker 7.
