<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning pin excellent in abrasion resistance and durability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This positioning pin 1 includes a substantially rod-like core part 3, and a substantially cylindrical tip part 4 engaged with the core part 3 and of surrounding the core part 3, and is inserted into a positioning hole W1 of a work W. The tip part 4 of the positioning pin 1 is formed of an inclined composite material with a hardness getting low from an outer circumferential face side toward an inner circumferential face side. The hardness is 650 Hv or more to 1,100 Hv or less in the outer circumferential face side of the tip part 4, the hardness is 450 Hv or more to 900 Hv or less in the inner circumferential face side thereof, and a hardness difference is 200 Hv or more between the hardness in the outer circumferential face side and the hardness in the inner circumferential face side.
