This invention concerns a system for estimating systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and mean arterial pressure (MAP). Said system establishes a physiological model of the pulse wave along with its energy to, subsequently, generate a fixed-length vector containing the values of the previous model along with other variables related to the user such as, for example, age, sex, height, weight, etc. This fixed-length vector is used as input in a function estimation system based on random forests to calculate the three variables of interest. The principal advantage of this system for estimating parameters derives from the fact that it does not impose any a priori restriction on the function to be estimated as well as being highly robust when handling heterogeneous data, as is the case with this invention.
