<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance improvement of a recording and reproducing efficiency by adopting a hologram recording and reproducing method. <P>SOLUTION: At the recording operation, information recording is performed by irradiation with only signal light applied with a spatial light intensity modulation according to recording data. At the reproduction, reproduction light for the recorded signal light is obtained by irradiation with DC light which is formed so that the whole area becomes to have a uniform light intensity. In case the information is thus recorded by the irradiation with signal light only and the recording information becomes reproducible, a data capacity recordable/reproducible at one time can be increased as compared with a case such a conventional coaxial method is adopted that the recording operation is performed by the irradiation with the reference light together with the signal light, and improvement of the recording and reproducing efficiency is enhanced as the result. There are detection methods for properly obtaining the reproduction light of the recorded whole signal light; for instance, a method for detecting the reproduction light of each area with time-division by successive irradiation with the DC light formed on each area which is divided from the signal light area, or a method for detecting only the reproduction light by making formation of/irradiation with the DC light over the whole signal light area and carrying out a spectroscopic analysis for the reproduction light to be thus obtained and the reflected light component of the irradiation light by utilizing a polarization. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
