<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display wherein luminance distributions on the front and side surfaces are uniform. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display comprises: a reflective sheet for reflecting light; an optical plate including a substrate for guiding light, a height-variable section formed on one surface of the substrate not facing to the reflective sheet, and a prism pattern formed on the height-variable section; and a plurality of light sources arranged at one side of the optical plate in the one direction so as to correspond to a position below average height from one surface of the substrate to the height-variable section among the height-variable sections. The prism pattern is extended in the other direction at approximately right angles to one direction, and an average height of the prism pattern is 0.1-10% of a thickness of the substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
