<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and a biometric authentication device which are high in authentication precision, inexpensive, and also high in reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 150 which is provided with a transparent substrate 30 having a plurality of lenses, and a sensor substrate 10 having a plurality of pixels PX corresponding to the plurality of lenses 32 includes a light shielding structure 20 which has a plurality of light-transmissive holes 25 disposed correspondingly to the plurality of lenses 32 and having a vacant structure and is disposed between the transparent substrate 30 and the sensor substrate 10.
