<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate which has a polyethylene terephthalate film as a protective film, the polarizing plate having excellent durability under a severe environment and excellent productivity, and to provide a liquid crystal display using the polarizing plate and having excellent environmental resistance, particularly resistance to moisture and temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate includes a polarizing film comprising a polyvinyl alcohol base resin and a stretched polyethylene terephthalate laminated on one surface of the polarizing film through a first adhesive layer. The first adhesive layer comprises a solventless active energy ray curable composition containing alicyclic epoxy compound.
