PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sawtooth-shaped screw type chain tensioner easy to assemble. SOLUTION: An circular boss 8 is provided on the outer-end-face center at the closed end of a cylinder 1 into which a plunger 4 is incorporated by screwing a sawtooth-shaped screw. The boss 8 is suitable for the inner diameter face of an inner ring 31 of a bearing 30 placed on the supporting face of a table, e.g., to rotatably support the cylinder 1, and the plunger 4 is arranged on the cylinder 1. The plunger 4 is screwed by rotating the cylinder 1 while pushing the plunger 4 down, whereby the chain tensioner is assembled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
