<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container capable of accurately detecting a residual quantity of liquid existing in the container regardless of kinds and states of the liquid and the container body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The container 1 is provided which includes: a container body 2 for interiorly storing the liquid A; an elastic deformation part 3 which is disposed on the wall surface of the container body 2 below the liquid level of the liquid A, and is elastically deformed by the liquid pressure of the liquid A; a displacement member 4 which is attached to the elastic deformation part 3, and displaced by the elastic deformation of the elastic deformation part 3; and a detection part 5 for detecting the displacement amount of the displacement member 4.
