<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify the fact that an ABS (antilock brake system) device is operated to a driver by operational reaction of a brake pedal, when the ABS device is operated in braking by a slave cylinder of a BBW (brake-by-wire) type brake device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this vehicular brake device, the slave cylinder 23 arranged between a master cylinder 11 and wheel cylinders 16, 17, 20, and 21, electrically generates brake liquid pressure in response to operation force or an operation quantity of the brake pedal 12, and prevents a lock of a wheel by reducing, holding, and increasing breaking force when operating the ABS device 24. Since the driver increases-decreases the operational reaction received from the brake pedal 12 by controlling opening-closing of a reaction permitting valve 25 arranged between the master cylinder 11 and a stroke simulator 26 when operating the ABS device 24, the fact of operating the ABS device can be notified to the driver by an increase-decrease in the operational reaction of the brake pedal 12, though braking is not performed by the brake liquid pressure generated by the master cylinder 12.
