<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress thermal displacement of a machine tool by coping with a temperature range of a local region in a control system of temperature in a protective cover of the machine tool, and to improve accuracy of the machine tool. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The control system of temperature in a protective cover of a machine tool includes: a cover body 2 for covering the machine tool 1; a general air supply pipe 3 having a supply opening 3a connected to the cover body 2 for supplying air into the cover body 2 from the opening 3a; a temperature sensor 4 placed at a predetermined position of the machine tool 1 and capable of measuring temperature; a local air supply pipe 5 having an outlet 5a placed in the vicinity of the predetermined position and capable of blowing the air from the outlet 5a to the predetermined position or its vicinity; and an air supply controller 6 for supplying the air with at least one of temperature and flow rate controlled to the pipes 3 and 5, respectively. The air supply controller 6 controls at least one of the air and the flow rate of the air to be supplied to the local air supply pipe 5 based on the temperature measured by the temperature sensor 4.
