<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, thin image input device which uses an inexpensive imaging element of a small imaging area to image a wide range of an extremely close subject and allows the input of a high-quality subject image, and a small, thin personal authentication device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A compound-eye image which is a set of contracted images (single-eye images) of a subject photographed by different lenses of a lens array 3 is imaged using an imaging element 6. An image correcting process unit 102 performs correction such as distortion and reducing the amount of peripheral light to each of the single-eye images of the compound-eye image. A reconfiguring process unit 110 reconfigures a single image of a high resolution out of the corrected compound-eye image by the use of the relative parallax between the single-eye images, and the single-eye image is input as a subject image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
