PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device of the elevator doorway, miniaturizable, while preventing the occurrence of erroneous detection. SOLUTION: A light receiver 8 for receiving the light from a light projector arranged on a doorway column 5 is arranged in a space in a doorway upper frame 4. A light projecting-receiving opening part 9 blocked up by a filter 10 for passing the light from the light projector is arranged in a bottom part 4a of the doorway upper frame 4. A fixing base 11 having an opening upper part is also fixed to the bottom part 4a by surrounding the filter 10. An upper part of the fixing base 11 is covered with a sensor holder 15. The sensor holder 15 is provided with a sensor opening part. The sensor holder 15 holds the light receiver 8 above the light projecting-receiving opening part 9 in a state of arranging the light receiver 8 in the sensor opening part.
