<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having light receiving elements disposed in an active area, and improving detection performance of the light receiving element. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The display device including a display surface disposed facing the active area 102 constituted of a plurality of pixels includes: a self-luminous display element 60 arranged in each of pixels so as to emit light toward the display surface; a light receiving elements 80 disposed in the active area, for receiving the incident light from the display surface; and a light shielding layer SL disposed between the light receiving element and the display surface, and having an opening OP facing the light receiving element.
