<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict users and an information processor accessing a storage device. <P>SOLUTION: A USB memory 1 has: a flash memory 14 storing data; and an encryption engine 25 encrypting the data to be stored in the flash memory 14, and decrypting the read data. The USB memory 1 has a CPU (Central Processing Unit) 24 performing predetermined control. The CPU 24 authenticates the user when receiving a predetermined command issued when the USB memory 1 is connected to computer devices 2a, 4a. The CPU 24 changes an activation flag from an OFF state to an ON state to make a drive accessible. The CPU 24 encrypts the data supplied from the computer devices 2a, 4a by the encryption engine 25 and writes them into the flash memory 14.
