<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly pure epoxy compound with a low content of a catalyst residue. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a method of producing an epoxy compound by oxidizing a compound comprising a carbon-carbon double bond in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, a quarternary ammonium salt and a heteropolyacid, and subsequently removing the quarternary ammonium salt remaining in the reaction mixture using activated carbon and a substance of a smectite type. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
