PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can efficiently perform detection and decode processing carried out in parallel for a plurality of kinds of codes. SOLUTION: For achieving the above object, an image processing apparatus includes a first means for performing processing for detecting and decoding a first code form a scanned image, and a second means for performing processing for detecting and decoding a second code from the scanned image. The processing in the first means is performed in parallel with the processing in the second means. Further, when the processing by the first means is completed, even without completing the processing by the second means, printing of the scanned image is started on the basis of a result of the processing in the first means.
