PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a summer carpet allowing a person to securely feel coolness when the person touches the surface of the carpet. SOLUTION: The carpet is produced by using pile yarn to which microcapsules enclosing a phase transition material are fixed in advance. Accordingly, the microcapsules enclosing the phase transition material can be fixed to the surface layer of the carpet without impairing the touch of the carpet, and the person can securely feel the coolness when the person touches the surface of the carpet.
