PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal temperature sensor which enhances the accuracy of temperature measurement by being disposed near a liquid crystal display element, minimizes the number of components to be newly added to increase manufacture efficiency, and is integrated with a liquid crystal display element. SOLUTION: The sensor includes four pixels, in which electrodes of two pixels in the four pixels are connected in series to form two serial sets, the two serial sets are connected in parallel to constitute one sensor unit. In each serial set, one pixel is horizontally aligned while the other pixel is vertically aligned. In the sensor unit, the two serial sets are arranged in such a manner that a line connecting the horizontally aligned pixel in one serial set and the horizontally aligned pixel in the other serial set, and a line connecting the vertically aligned pixel in one serial set and the vertically aligned pixel in the other serial set intersect each other. In each serial set, an output section extracting a differential signal of temperature changes is disposed at the middle point of the two pixels connected in series. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
