The device (1) has a holding device (27) for holding a test object (4) e.g. side door of a motor vehicle, and arranged at a primary carriage (2). The carriage is movably arranged along a track (5), and a secondary carriage (3) is movably arranged at the primary carriage. The secondary carriage moves relative to the primary carriage, and acts on the object for simulation of a crash-conditional collision, during impact of the primary carriage with an impulse (I). The holding device has a measuring device for force measurement of force application of the secondary carriage on the object.
