Provided is multi-root peripheral component interconnect (PCI) express switch which can be started without waiting for a root complex and does not depend on the system scale in a Multi-Root Aware (MRA) PCI express switch accommodating a plurality of root complexes. The system operability is improved. The multi-root PCI express switch is provided with a setting register which stores information required to set a PCI tree based on the topology of the connection destination of a switch and the physical connection state, and a virtual switch bridge controller which stores information required to build a virtual PCI tree independently of the state of the setting register. A root complex can be started based on the information of the virtual switch bridge controller.
