<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and highly reliable coin processor that prevents a coin jam in storing and returning coins even when a plurality of coins whose diameters are different are stored, and which can be replaced with an existing coin processor in which a storage port and a return port of the held coins are arranged on the lower face of the device. <P>SOLUTION: A coin processor is configured to decide authenticity of coins deposited into a slot to sort the coins into accepted coins and return coins, and to accept and hold the accepted coins from an acceptance port to a holding device configured of a placing body arranged at the lower part and a pair of support bodies 132 and 134 arranged at the upper part and side part of the placing body, and to feed the held coins to the storage port or the return port by selectively moving the pair of support bodies to holding positions SP1 and SP2 and non-holding positions.
