PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a uniformly aligned thin film consisting of only carbon nanotube (CNT) with a large area on a substrate. SOLUTION: A carbon nanotube alignment layer is fabricated by using the fact that CNT molecules are aligned along an electric field when an AC voltage is applied between electrodes. The distance between the electrodes is set in the order of centimeters. The frequency of the AC voltage is set within a predetermined low frequency range.
