<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber current sensor reduced in cost by adopting a semiconductor laser as a light source while maintaining measuring performance, and attaining the further spread. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber current sensor 10 has an optical fiber 310 surrounding the circumference of a wire 4 along which a measurement current flows, allows linearly polarized light beams generated from laser beams emitted from a light source 100 including a semiconductor laser to pass through an optical path to rotate the Faraday angle by the Faraday effect, and calculates the measurement current based on first and second light amounts measured by photodiodes 120, 130 by separating the linearly polarized light beams into first and second detection light beams perpendicular to each other. In the optical current sensor 10, the light source 100 inputs a current synthesized by overlapping a high frequency current on a direct current to the semiconductor laser and emits laser beams of multimode light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
