<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper arm capable of easily returning to a desired idling torque state after idling. <P>SOLUTION: The wiper arm includes a pivot shaft 10 and an arm support 20 connected to the pivot shaft 10. An engagement hole 31 is buried in an inner circumferential surface of a bush 22 of the arm support 20, a storage hole 32 is bored in an outer circumferential surface of the pivot shaft 10, a ball 33 engaged with the engagement hole 31 is stored in the storage hole 32, and a spring 34 that biases the ball 33 toward the engagement hole 31 is stored in the storage hole 32. When a large idling torque is generated, the ball 33 is pushed back against resilient force of the spring 34 on an incline surface of the engagement hole 31 and is disengaged from the engagement hole 31. Therefore, the connection between the pivot shaft 10 and the arm support 20 is released. When the pivot shaft is rotated after the cause of the generation of the idling torque is eliminated, the ball is engaged with the engagement hole by the resilient force of the spring.
